When should I drain and flush my water heater? - Executive Plumbing Lincoln, CA

Answer

Um, is it worth draining my water heater myself or a pro for efficiency? Um, obviously a pro. Uh, homeowners aren't going to take the the care that a plumber is to actually drain it all the way through. Um, a lot of homeowners get it confused that just open up their water heater and let it drain out and that's it. Um, plumbers usually flush out the system. We uh we kick out as much sediment as we can and uh do a thorough clean rather than most homeowners just turn off the water, open the hose bib and let the water drain. There's a little bit more to it and I think a plumber would be more efficient.
